1 PREPARE YOUR HAIR 

To prepare your hair for our organic colour treatment, follow these steps:

• Start by washing your hair twice with a clarifying shampoo to eliminate impurities, product buildup, and residues that could affect the colouring process.
• If you have been using silicone-based products, we suggest using our detox mask before shampooing to ensure thorough cleansing and remove stubborn buildup for even colour application.
• Avoid using conditioner before applying the organic colour, as conditioners can create a barrier on the hair shaft, potentially affecting the colour absorption.

2 COMBINE THE POWDER

To mix the powder effectively, combine it with hot water using three times the volume of water as the powder. Here are the recommended ratios for different hair lengths:

• For root-to-mid-length application, mix 100g of powder with 300g of water.
• For mid-length to full-length application, mix 150g of powder with 450g of water.
• For long hair and full-length application, mix 200g of powder with 600g of water.

Use a whisk to blend until the mixture resembles thick yogurt. To achieve the ideal result, we recommend using water a 50 degrees. 

3 APPLY

Apply Rēcipe Botanica colour mix to damp, brushed hair using your hands or a colour brush. To enhance application, it is recommended to divide your hair into sections to ensure complete saturation. Ensure every strand is fully covered with the mud for the best colour results. If necessary, feel free to mix more product; a denser application provides superior outcomes with herbal colours.

4 RELAX

Cover your hair with a shower cap and unwind as the plants work their wonders. For our Burgundy shade we recommend leaving the colour from 45 minutes to 1h15. Feel free to try different timings and make adjustments accordingly. The longer the colour stays on your hair, the deeper and richer your hair colour will be. Since our dyes are completely chemical-free, you can keep them on all day for a more intense colour if you wish. 

5 RINSE OFF

After the processing time, rinse your hair with warm water without shampooing. Then, apply conditioner and comb through it using a large comb or brush to remove any plant residues completely. Finally, style your hair using desired products.

6 WAIT FOR 48H

Allow 24 to 48 hours for the colour to develop its full hues. This waiting period will enhance the colour depth and fade any undesired greenish tones, unveiling a stunning shade. Refrain from shampooing your hair within this timeframe to let the colour set effectively.

ORANGE HAIR 

For dark shades with significant grey hair, if some parts appear too orange after rinsing, towel dry your hair and go over the orange areas with our Blueberry shade mixture to counteract the unwanted warmth. Create a thick soup-like texture by mixing a small amount of our Blueberry shade powder with 50-degree water, then apply it to the undesired orange spots. Let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing.

GREEN HAIR

For dark shades with a significant amount of grey hair, if some areas seem green after rinsing, don't worry! This indicates effective coverage of your grey hair. The green tint will fade within the next 24 to 48 hours, revealing a lovely brown hue. Don’t shampoo your hair during this period.
