It's a beautiful texture, and color. But! I have gray hair on top so a sample of what it looks like on gray hair would be so helpful. Also, I am quite sensitive to herbs. I had a pretty strong reaction to the herbs because I left the herbs on my head for about 2.5 hours. After 2 hours, and then for the rest of the day, it felt a bit like I had had 10 cups of coffee! I am going to try just indigo or maybe mix it with a little henna, to cover up the golden color completely. Let's see...its a work in progress but definitely the best option available on the market!

I am a long time Henna user and this is my first experience with Recipe Botanica.
The Roasted Coffee is a perfect result - color and conditioning. I have also bought Almond which I will try next time to compare the colours. I have tried so many henna products and this is by far the best with clear instructions and good communication from the owner - Thank you

My first time using this hair colour. I started with Roasted Coffee. I had A LOT of greys and now I have these lovely coppery highlights. Really love the colour and how my hair feels. Definitely recommend.

Oh my goodness, where to even start?
I have been searching for a natural hair dye solution for years and was so excited to try Recipe Botanica when I saw a sponsored ad on IG. I kept my expectations somewhat low as I have been disappointed in the past but I’m legitimately blown away by how good this product is!
I’m in my early 40’s, have quite a few gray hairs, mostly closer to my scalp, meaning i have big patches to cover and a layer of hair over it, which can be tricky to get right.
The process is so easy to follow and the fact that there are no toxic smells and burning sensation was such a novel experience for me, who had been buying a “salon quality” at home dye. Because of my substantial patches of gray hair, i had slightly brassy coverage, which I countered with the Blueberry powder. I’m left with very subtle highlights on my naturally dark hair and a gorgeous, rich colour that blends in so well.
I love how healthy my hair feels and the fact that I can touch up, recolour whenever I need to without stressing about “frying my hair. I’ve done 2 applications already and I can’t imagine ever going back to chemical dyes.
This product is life changing and I hope it becomes a lot more mainstream. If I could give it 100 stars I would.

Been looking for a healthier way to disguise greys for some time. With fine & thin hair, have been concerned that even the gentle colours I’ve been using are making my hair more fragile and brassy / lighter over time & so have been delaying colouring and trying deposit conditioners. This popped up in my feed at just the right time & after watching multiple posts took the plunge. Really happy with the result as it has added depth back to my colour & amazed at the grey coverage. My hair also feels more substantial & silky. The whole experience of applying it is different too - like a soft warm nourishing masque.

I chose the 100% plant-based colour because I wanted a more natural option, especially with greys starting to come through. I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result.

My hair feels noticeably shinier, healthier and stronger than it ever did with synthetic colour — and I still use heat styling regularly. It doesn’t feel dry or dull at all; it actually feels like the colour has added life back into my hair.

The shade has so much depth and dimension. It pigments my greys beautifully so they blend in and create soft, natural variations rather than a flat block of colour. In different lighting, you can see the richness come through.

I highly recommend plant-based colour to anyone wanting a healthier, more natural alternative without compromising on beautiful results. Thank you so much Recipe Botanica for an incredible product ❤️

This product is great! I've finally found an all-natural product that covers the greys (and a lot of the white as well!), and it does it all in half the time. I'm so impressed!

This shade results in gorgeous, coppery highlights. Covered greys well and subtly fades over time.

It was too dark for me. I got the wrong brown and it went brassy on my grey so I used the blueberry to tone it and went darker again. Nothing wrong with the product, a great alternative for natural home colour product. I'm very unhappy with how it turned out. My fault for not researching better.

Highly recommend! I have curly hair, with greys starting to come through—after one application, it covered all the greys, and my hair is healthier than it has ever been. Also used the anti-hair loss —LOVE IT— and everyone has been commenting on my hair.

I love the idea of this brand and thought roasted coffee would be dark, but unfortunately it left a very orange covering on greys despite leaving it on for the time advised. I’d be grateful for recommendations from the company of how to solve this. .

I used this after finding ‘almond’ too brassy. It’s darker than I would usually go, but it’s definitely ‘brown’ rather than orange.
Will use again.

Great colour, very similar to my natural hair colour (dark brunette). I used it to cover my highlights which were already in the bottom part of my hair and loved the result.

I love this product. It blends my greys beautifully and elevates my colour so well. My hair feels healthier and stronger and the chestnut highlights are so flattering.

Recipe Botanica has honestly been life changing for me. I was getting tired of constantly going to salons and spending so much money just to cover my natural hair colour and greys, only to be left with hair that felt dry, brittle and damaged afterwards.

I had also struggled to find a hair colour that would cover my greys without causing burning, itching or discomfort. Recipe Botanica was completely different. My scalp did not burn or itch during or after using it, and my hair felt much healthier than it usually did after salon colouring.

The colour initially came out a little orange on my hair, but I made a solution using approximately 70% roasted coffee and 30% blueberry, which transformed the result. It softened the orange tones and made my greys look like natural, dimensional highlights rather than obvious grey coverage.

There is a noticeable herbal smell, but it usually disappears after the recommended 48-hour wash. That feels like such a small compromise compared with the irritation, damage and expense I had experienced in the past.

Being able to colour my hair at home, achieve a beautiful natural-looking result, save money and avoid the burning, itching, dryness and brittleness has made an enormous difference to me. For the first time in a long time, I feel confident colouring my hair again, and I am incredibly grateful to have found Recipe Botanica. THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

p.s. - BONUS...the ingredients are the cleanest I have ever seen...and I've been searching for almost 20 years now!!!

Good grey coverage and nourishes hair, but colour leaves an orange tint that I had to tone down by applying another natural colour from a different organic hair colour brand (that takes two steps to create their colour).

Just dyed my hair with the "Roasted Coffee" shade and I will never go back to chemical hair dyes. My hair feels soft and clean, and my scalp isn't irritated. I suffer from female pattern baldness and always lost lots and lots of hair when dyeing with chemical dyes. I lost some with the rinsing of this but nowhere near as much! This shade coloured my greys beautifully and subtly. I was worried that my lengths would be too dark as that's what would happen with chemical dyes, but that wasn't the case with this. The shade added a depth and richness to my brown without darkening it. I found application a little tricky due to the consistency, but I think that's just because I'm used to box dyes. With practice I'm sure it won't be a problem. The mixture stayed put in my hair once applied and I wasn't worried about it dripping. Love this product so much, thank you!

Placed the product on my hair felt very stage to be placing hair clay on my hair but the result was amazing. I probably need to find my colour palette. My hair felt great after washing it out,

Excellent support and fantastic product! While the colour that I first bought wasn’t quite right I was able to communicate with the company, they reviewed my photos and gave me some advice which was incredibly helpful and I really appreciated the support. The product was very easy to use and washed out easily. Unlike regular box dyes that stain your skin. This one doesn’t stain your skin at all. I’ll definitely use this product again and I will get the colour that they kindly recommended.

My hair feels soooo much softer and hairfall has reduced. The colour looks more like henna but less harsh. Hopefully it will develop over applications, but I don't think I will go back to chemical colours anymore❤️

I used the roast coffee colour for the first time today and I’m happy with the result. The mixture was easy to prepare and covered my greys well. My hair is naturally a dark brown colour and now it has a lovely shine and highlights. I was using a similar product which work but had a complicated preparation process,so I’m glad I found your brand. I do have one small area of colour-resistant grey that appears lighter, so I might go over it with the mixture again.

Great product
Great customer service
My hair feels so soft and lovely
I definitely need to improve in my self application to make sure i cover all areas better next time

The roasted coffee covered my greys making them a mid brown highlight and it did not over pigment my ends which have been previously coloured. My hair is curly and normal dyes leave the hair dry and not curling well. This did not damage them.
It smells like Yerba mate tea which is earthy but pleasant

First time using this product and chose this colour. Fantastic result. Covered greys no issue. Looks amazing all over. I was concerned about washing the mud like substance down the drain but it all just dissolved in water and there were no solid bits.
Highly recommend.
