Golden Macadamia creates a sunny, golden blonde tone with soft copper warmth — radiant, glowing, never harsh. It works by depositing plant pigments onto your hair, enhancing your natural base rather than lifting it. Designed for blondes or anyone wanting more warmth and luminosity, it delivers a bright, sun-kissed finish full of glow and dimension.

1 PREPARE YOUR HAIR
To prepare your hair for our organic colour treatment, follow these steps:
- Start by washing your hair twice with a clarifying shampoo to eliminate impurities, product buildup, and residues that could affect the colouring process.
- If you have been using silicone-based products, we suggest using our detox mask before shampooing to ensure thorough cleansing and remove stubborn buildup for even colour application.
- Avoid using conditioner before applying the organic colour, as conditioners can create a barrier on the hair shaft, potentially affecting the colour absorption.
2 COMBINE THE POWDER
To mix the powder effectively, combine it with hot water using three times the volume of water as the powder. Here are the recommended ratios for different hair lengths:
- For root-to-mid-length application, mix 100g of powder with 300g of water.
- For mid-length to full-length application, mix 150g of powder with 450g of water.
- For long hair and full-length application, mix 200g of powder with 600g of water.
Use a whisk to blend until the mixture resembles thick yogurt. To achieve the ideal result, we recommend using water a 60 degrees.
3 APPLY
Apply Rēcipe Botanica colour mix to damp, brushed hair using your hands or a colour brush. To enhance application, it is recommended to divide your hair into sections to ensure complete saturation. Ensure every strand is fully covered with the mud for the best colour results. If necessary, feel free to mix more product; a denser application provides superior outcomes with herbal colours.
4 RELAX
Cover your hair with a shower cap and unwind as the plants work their wonders. For our Golden Blond shade we recommend leaving the colour from 30 to 60 minutes. Feel free to try different timings and make adjustments accordingly. The longer the colour stays on your hair, the deeper and richer your hair colour will be. Since our dyes are completely chemical-free, you can keep them on all day for a more intense colour if you wish.
5 RINSE OFF
After the processing time, rinse your hair with warm water without shampooing. Then, apply conditioner and comb through it using a large comb or brush to remove any plant residues completely. Finally, style your hair using desired products.
6 WAIT FOR 48H
Allow 24 to 48 hours for the colour to develop its full hues. This waiting period will enhance the colour depth and fade any undesired greenish tones, unveiling a stunning shade. Refrain from shampooing your hair within this timeframe to let the colour set effectively.

So, I checked the chart and looked at my hair colour and the predicted outcome, all looked good. I followed directions, as I had with Chamomile previously. It came out looking exactly like Sweet Orange. Not happy.
I have ordered Almond to try and tone it down. Bright orange is not my hue. Not sure what happened here, but I read another comment whereby someone else had the same issue. I reported this on chat and there was no response to the specific issue except to say that Almond would deepend the colour for me. Very nervous about your colours now, however can't go back to dark blonde now can I?

A year ago in Spain I had a beautiful natural product called 'barro' and I loved it. I've been looking for it here in Australia since then and couldn't find it anywhere.
When I saw these products I really liked the sound of them, but was unsure to do it myself.
This morning I used the golden macadamia for the first time and I'm in love with it! Super easy to apply, smells lovely and earthy, and it didn't stain anything (which I was worried about).

I have naturally mousy hair which can have a few sun-kissed highlights, but can also look very flat and dull. Am so happy I went with the Golden Macadamia. Was concerned it wouldn't add the brightness I was hoping for,and glad to say I was wrong! This shade has gorgeous golden and copper tones that add warmth while accentuating my natural highlights. I have very fine hair and mixed too much - about double what I needed. If you have fine hair, I would recommend starting with a small amount and only mixing more as needed. I will easily get 4 applications from a bag when I mix only the amount I need. Really happy I tried this product. Love that it's a natural and cheaper alternative that still gives that salon-fresh confidence boost. It's also lasting as advertised and not fading too quickly. Great product!

I was so impressed by the personalised advice when choosing my colour. I was very nervous as I have not used a natural dye before (not since my teens). My hair was so soft and silky after dying which is the opposite of the ‘natural - yet chemical’ home kits I usually use. My hair still feels silky a few weeks later. The greys have become more like subtle highlights so I can see my regrowth will be much more integrated and not a harsh line. The advice and customer care is of a very high level and I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a very high-quality, chemical free option with genuine, personalised before and after care.

These are amazing colours. I was looking for an alternative to all the toxic hair colours. And I found these amazing natural products. Christina recommended this colour. I was wanting to cover the grey in my hair. The colour has turned the grey a beautiful golden colour which blends so well with the darker brown in my hair it’s like instant highlights, it also works with the previous highlights which I was growing out. I’ve never felt more relaxed and at peace after going organic and not putting all those chemicals on my hair! Love love. Highly recommend!

I never write reviews but I want to spread the word about how great this is.
After having children my scalp starting reacting to salon colours I had been using for years. My hairdresser of decades search for alternative products but all commercial products had something toxic that left my scalp burning, red and painfully itchy for days. Not ready to go grey I resorted to taking anti histamines before I went to the salon. I then tried Aveda thinking it was “organic”, only to react again.
So when I found this product I was skeptical but thankfully I had zero reaction. My scalp has no irritation at all and my hair is left feeling so soft and healthy.
I absolutely love the colour, golden macadamia. It hides the greys and blends into the light brown/ blonde hair leaving natural look without having to cover with darker brown shade.
I also love that it is natural ingredients and I am not adding any chemicals to my body and also the environment.
